Stress is known to activate “fight-or-run” mechanisms in your body, including increased heartbeat rate and blood pressure to prepare our bodies to incoming danger. This does nothing wrong if happens once a month, but if you suffer from long-time stress, blood pressure level will be increased – permanently. And such situation is both unnatural and dangerous for even the youngest.

If you feel stressed, think about problems that cause it. Is it really worth endangering your very life for an increase in salary or a better car? High blood pressure may end in a heart attack and a painful death – and there is simply nothing worth it. You simply have to solve it once and for all. Talk with someone about your problems and make sure you will have some assistance and backup when you start actually coping with what haunts you.

When you have talked your problems over, you have to find a good way to cope with them. The major problem with stress is that it reduces our ability to cope with anything, so oftentimes you need to de-stress in order to de-stress. That’s why you should now go and see your family doctor. There you will find a few good tips on how to increase your stress resistance and a few pills to cool down your nerves – and a few days’ break in feeling stressed is precisely what you need to solve your problems.

Having said that, you have to remember about anti-stress techniques. If only you adopt a more positive attitude towards life, you will find yourself virtually impregnable when it comes to coping with stress. Look for solutions instead of problems, do your best and don’t worry about the rest, and never be worried by little problems. This will keep your blood pressure down. Anything else will increase the chance of a heart attack, so you’d better stick to those tips.

Life isn’t long enough to spend more than a day worrying about something. If you let yourself to be stressed and do nothing about it, your life is as good as gone. You have to relax a bit from time to time, and thing about the greater picture and your role in it. Then, all the details that make you down will no longer be as important as you think now. If only you could take them easy, your stress would vanish in a blink of an eye.

The Author: John Andrews writes and reports on stress and how to deal with it naturally, without prescription meds or drugs. For more information and detailed studies on how to achieve natural stress relief, go to: Natural Stress Relief.

Preventing high blood pressure is highly important as elevated blood pressure can result in many more serious diseases. High blood pressure has been linked to your genetics, diet and lifestyle. The best way to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level is to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise on a regular basis. It is also important to keep the heart in shape.

There have been a few diets developed to help you prevent high blood pressure by eating foods that keep your blood pressure low, called the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH). This DASH diet centers on low fat dairy, vegetables, low cholesterol foods, low fat foods and fruits. The suggested foods include whole grains, nuts, poultry and fish.

There is a DASH-sodium diet also, as salt is directly linked to hypertension. There have been many studies that show that decreasing sodium can assist in treating hypertension. Folks who managed to lower their pressure the most were eating a diet that had 1,500 milligrams of sodium daily.

It’s also known that being overweight will increase your risk of hypertension. Losing as little as ten pounds is an effective way of preventing hypertension. Being obese also increases your risk of heart problems and developing cholesterol problems and diabetes. So it is in your best interests to lose even just ten pounds.

It’s also very important that you get regular exercise, as physical activity has an effect on the heart in particular. The more you exercise the lower your resting heart rate, so exercise is an effective form of high blood pressure treatment. Your workout doesn’t have to be full out from the beginning; you can work up to an adequate amount of exercise. It’s suggested that you begin with a walking schedule first. You only need to get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 times a week.

Blood pressure is also linked to alcohol consumption, and over consumption can result in high blood pressure. You should drink moderately, which means two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women. One ounce of strong liquor, 5 ounces of wine and 12 ounces of beer is considered one drink. If you’re endeavoring to lose weight then alcoholic beverages can make this challenging.

Smoking also results in high blood pressure and if you are a smoker then you need to quit in order to prevent high blood pressure. You can bring your blood pressure back to normal in a year merely by quitting smoking.

Hypertension and high blood pressure are two names for the same condition. Due to our sedentary lives and easy access to junk food, the problem is escalating. And if left unchecked, it can lead to heart disease. Learn more about treatment for high blood pressure at the High Blood Pressure Control site.

October 29 is World Stroke Day. Promoted by the World Stroke Organization, the topic of World Stroke Day this year is “What can I do?”

According to the World Stroke Organization, you can master how to distinguish risk components and symptoms of stroke – and do something about them.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a major risk factor for stroke as well as heart disease. Poor nutrition, lack of exercise, obesity, and smoking all elevate the risk of stroke and hypertension.

A stroke is similar to a heart attack, but it takes place in the brain. Stroke occurs when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel and interrupts blood flow to the brain. A lack of blood flow causes brain damage; brain cells begin to die. Stroke may force weakness in limbs, paralyzed limbs, or loss of ability to speak.

Stroke is the third leading instigator of death in the U.S. and the leading reason of adult disability. Up to 80 percent of strokes are preventable with healthy lifestyle choices.

“Stroke is not an inevitable consequence of ageing,” points of Professor Lars Ryden of the Karolinska Institute in Stockhom. “So by identifying and modifying risk factors, there are chances to reduce the incidence and fatality rate of this destructive condition.”

Worldwide, stroke is the second leading cause of death (second only to heart disease), accounting for nearly 6 million deaths each year. The number of stroke victims proceeds to rise around the world.

High blood pressure is the most important risk factor for stroke. The Framingham Heart Study found that hypertension doubles the risk of stroke. Smoking also doubles the risk of stroke.

To reduce the risk of stroke, you can stop smoking (if you smoke), lose weight, lower blood pressure, eat healthier foods, and exercise regularly. Excessive alcohol consumption and excessive salt intake also increase the risk for high blood pressure as well as stroke. Consistent exercise is the key to losing weight, lowering blood pressure, and lowering your risk of stroke.

Walking is a wonderful exercise, and you have no reason to avoid walking. If the weather is bad outdoors, you can walk indoors in a mall, for example. One Japanese study found that regular vigorous walking reduced the risk of stroke by upwards of 20 percent. In a similar Finnish study, researchers found that leisure-time physical activity is a deterrent of stroke. Lying on the couch and watching television might seem like the most relaxing activity, but when that’s your only leisure-time activity, then it’s actually creating more stress and anxiety within your body. You must maintain physical activity levels to release that stress and keep your body healthy.

In summation, to reduce your risk of stroke, follow these simple guidelines: Stop smoking. Walk or exercise daily. Eat five servings of fruit and vegetables each day. Keep your blood pressure and cholesterol levels within healthy ranges.

See high blood pressure exercises for more tips on lowering blood pressure naturally.

Preventing high blood pressure is highly important as elevated blood pressure can result in many more serious ailments. High blood pressure has been associated with your genetics, diet and lifestyle. The best way to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level is to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise on a regular basis. It is also important to keep the heart in shape.

The key technique for successful high blood pressure treatment is to modify your diet. There are a few diets or eating plans that have been developed specifically to decrease blood pressure as many foods can cause high blood pressure. One of these diets, called DASH, focuses on eating low fat foods, low cholesterol foods, fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products. Whole grains, fish, nuts and poultry are all recommended sources of protein.

Another diet specifically designed for preventing high blood pressure is the DASH-sodium diet. This diet limits the amount of sodium you eat on a daily basis as sodium is directly associated with high blood pressure. This diet allows just 1,500 mg of salt on a daily basis, which can decrease your blood pressure significantly.

It is also known that being obese will raise your risk of hypertension. Losing as little as ten pounds is an effective way of preventing hypertension. Being obese also increases your risk of heart disease and developing cholesterol problems and diabetes. So it is in your best interests to lose even just ten pounds.

Other than losing weight, you also want to get regular physical activity, as the more you work out the lower your resting heart rate will be when you are not exercising. You don’t have to go all out; just start moderately. Simply walking 30 minutes a day is enough to help lower your blood pressure though it is recommended that you do different things to keep it interesting. Physical activity also helps you when looking to lose weight.

Alcohol consumption is also associated with blood pressure. You want to have just one drink a day to keep your high blood pressure under control. One drink is the same as 5 ounces of wine, 1.5 ounces of liquor and 12 ounces of beer. Men can have up to 2 drinks in a day and women up to 1 drink a day. If you are also trying to lose weight to decrease your blood pressure, then excessive alcohol consumption can make this challenging.

Smoking also causes high blood pressure and if you’re a smoker then you should quit in order to prevent high blood pressure. You can bring your blood pressure back to normal in a year merely by quitting smoking.

Hypertension and high blood pressure are two names for the same condition. Due to our sedentary lives and easy access to junk food, the problem is escalating. And if left unchecked, it can lead to heart disease.

I’ve mentioned this before, but it occurred again recently. While barely paying attention to the television, I caught a couple of key words. Stroke. Heart Attack. What now? I did a quick rewind and learned that this was another commercial for hypertension drugs.

I regularly receive emails from people who are also desperate to avoid these side effects and others due to the medication.

Many people have provided specific names of the medications they have been prescribed which led to additional research on side effects. While this is not new information, I was rather surprised again to review just how serious the side effects can be.

Remember, that high blood pressure is elevated blood pressure usually above 140 over 90 or so.

Heart attack and stroke can occur due to high blood pressure. Other vital organs can also be jeopardized such as teh eyes, kidneys and brain.

High blood pressure can also lead to insomnia, erectile dysfunction and sight loss. Since the symptoms can be very subtle or even non existent, it has earned the name “silent killer.”

Some symptoms though are noticable by people. Blurred vision, headaches, sweating and nausea are hard to ignore. You need to actually measure your blood pressure to be sure hypertension is present.

A single reading does not necessarily mean chronic high blood pressure though. You need to check it regularly and take note if you happen to be taking other medications. There are over the counter drugs that can contribute to elevated blood pressure.

It is important to be informed of the potential side effects of medication before you start taking it. Four types of medication I am sharing today are ACE Inhibitors, Beta Blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers and Diuretics.

The ACE Innhibitors (angiotensin-converting enzyme) relax blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II production. This is a hormone responsible for narrowed blood vessels. Some commonly prescribed are: benazepril, captopril, enalapril, lisinopril, quinapril and ramipril.

Accompanying the drugs are possible side effects such as chronic coughing, headaches, chest pain and even kidney disease.

Now let’s look at Beta Blockers. These drugs reduce nerve signals to the heart and blood vessels which causes the heart to beat slower reducing blood pressure. Commonly prescribed beta blockers include: acebutolol (Sectral), atenolol (Tenormin), carvedilol (Coreg), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard), penbutolol (Levatol), propranolol (Inderal) and timolol (Blocadren).

Side effects include: fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, impotence, depression, memory loss and even hallucenations.

Calcium Channel Blockers block calcium from entering heart and blood vessel muscle cells which prevents the blood vessels from constricting and lowers blood pressure. Some of the beta blockers are amlodipine (Norvasc), diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor XR) felodipine (Plendil), nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), and verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan).

Nausea, heartburn, shortness of breath, dizziness, and sexual dysfunction can occur. More serious is stroke and heart attack ” one of the very things the drug is designed to prevent.

Diuretics flush the body of fluid and sodium. Some diuretics are chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), and indapamide (Lozol).

Side effects include: electrolyte imbalances, impotence, breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia), increased blood sugar and blurred eye sight.

If reducing or eliminating high blood pressure medication is your goal, I recommend taking this slowly. Do not just discontinue your medication.

Don’t worry that your doctor will be harder to convince. Doing it gradually and continuing to monitor your blood pressure with your doctor will make the transition easier to swallow.

Introduct the program but continue to take your medication. Continue to monitor your blood pressure. As it begins to lower, see your doctor and discuss lowering your medicine. Eventually you can do this until the drugs are no longer needed.

Are you thinking aboutgoing onhypertension remedies or are you already on medications? Before you do anything, learn about natural exercises to control blood pressure without side effects.

More and more people are becoming victims of hypertension in the last thirty years or so.

More and more people are becoming victims of hypertension in the last thirty years or so.

Since our genes have not changed all that much in the past one hundred years or so, it cannot be the reason for the rise in issues relating to high blood pressure.

The other popular explanation for the rise in hypertension in recent years is our change in diet; unfortunately this can not be the entire cause either.

Fifty to one hundred years ago, many people were eating a lot more fatty food, and there were not nearly this many issues relating to hypertension.

So what could be the reason for the increase in hypertension, if it is not what doctors and the medical community are claiming it to be?

In other words, while genes and diet may have some sort of an effect on the number of people suffering from hypertension today, and the surprising growth over the past thirty years or so, there is a completely different cause that not enough people have made themselves aware of.

The stressful lives that we live actually has an astonishingly powerful impact on our bodies and our health, and this can cause hypertension in many people.

Because of this, over the last decade, the number of people with hypertension has increased significantly.

Pinpointing our diet, genes and other less effective causes to the sudden boom in hypertension cases will not help us to combat the problem. It can only be solved and cured with the correct treatment program.

The stressful lives that we are leading can have an important effect on our health which we are only beginning to understand.

Previously, stress was only seen as an emotional and mental issues. Now, it can be seen that stress can also have an effect physically, causing sicknesses like hypertension, ulcers, stomach problems and other issues.

Fighting these sicknesses will not be by using pills or visiting the doctor, but instead will rely greatly on reducing stress.

What makes hypertension such a prevalent issue in today’s medical community is the fact that “conventional” treatments are not getting the job done, and people dealing with hypertension are still struggling with the condition, desperately looking for answers and solutions that the medical community cannot necessarily offer them.

Now, a completely rare program for battling hypertension that is based on the actual, most prevalent cause for hypertension is here.

The truth about hypertension, what causes it, and why it has become a common condition, and what it really takes to repair the damage done by stress will be revealed in this unique high blood pressure program that I have come up with.

Do you want to know what really causes high blood pressure? Christian Goodman is a leading expert in the issue of hypertension, check out his latest blog post on how to lower blood pressure .

Preventing high blood pressure is extremely important as elevated blood pressure can result in many more serious maladies. High blood pressure has been associated with your heredity, diet and lifestyle. The best way to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level is to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise on a regular basis. It's also important to keep the heart in shape.

Preventing high blood pressure is very important as this condition can increase your probability of developing cardiovascular disease. Your blood pressure is affected by your health, family history and diet. In order to prevent high blood pressure you should endeavor to follow a healthy lifestyle and work out regularly. It is also important to watch what you eat.

There is a specific eating plan that you can follow to lower your heart pressure that’s known as the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension, or DASH. It’s possible to minimize hypertension by eating specific foods such as vegetables, fruits, low fat dairy foods and foods that are low in fat and cholesterol. You also want to eat nuts, poultry, whole grains and fish.

There’s a DASH-sodium diet also, as salt is directly linked to hypertension. There have been many studies that show that reducing sodium can assist in addressing hypertension. Folks who were able to decrease their pressure the most were eating a diet that had 1,500 milligrams of sodium daily.

Being overweight is also associated with high blood pressure. You can dramatically reduce your blood pressure by losing as little as ten pounds. Obesity and high blood pressure can result in cardiovascular disease and diabetes. You can make a big difference to your general health by losing 10 pounds.

It’s also highly important that you get regular exercise, as exercise impacts the heart particularly. The more you exercise the lower your resting heart rate, so exercise is an effective form of high blood pressure treatment. Your workout does not have to be full out from the start; you can work up to an acceptable amount of exercise. It’s suggested that you start out with a walking schedule first. You simply have to get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 times a week.

By drinking a lot of alcoholic beverages you increase the pressure in your blood. You want to keep your alcohol consumption to a moderate amount, such as one drink a day for women and two for men. One drink is 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine or 1 ounce of whiskey or other liquor. Alcoholic beverages can also make it difficult to lose weight so you’ll want to limit your consumption for more than one reason.

Smoking also results in high blood pressure and if you’re a smoker then you should quit in order to prevent high blood pressure. You can bring your blood pressure back to normal in a year simply by quitting smoking.

High blood pressure is a serious concern these days. Due to our inactive lifestyles and excessive consumption of highly processed foods, the prevalence of this disease is rising.
